Jaipur: The Opposition BJP on Tuesday walked out
from the Rajasthan Assembly over the death of 16 women after
they were allegedly administered contaminated IV fluid in two
Jodhpur government hospitals.
During the Zero Hour in the state Assembly, BJP
legislator Kiran Maheshwari raised the issue of the maternal
deaths but the Speaker D S Shekhawat did not allow her to
speak following which she stormed to the well.
She accused the government of being insensitive towards
women.
Other opposition members also rushed to the well and
demanded a response from the state medical and health
minister.
The Speaker turned down the demand and asked them to go
back to their seats following which the Opposition staged a
walk out.
