Pink city erupts in colours

Jaipur today erupted in colours as enthusiastic revelers celebrated Holi smearing and spraying colours on each other.

Children and youths took to the streets dancing to the beat of drums painting the pink city in all hues.

Friends and relatives exchanged greetings and smeared `gulal` (colour) on each other`s faces.

The festival was celebrated peacefully and no untoward incident was reported.
Nearly 200 people were injured in Holi-related incidents and 150 of them were reported to SMS government hospital.

Dr Jagdish Modi, in-charge of emergency at SMS hospital, told PTI that out of approximately 150 cases, 20 patients were admitted and the rest were given primary treatment.

Elaborate security arrangements were in place and policemen were deployed at important areas to maintain law and order. Barricades were set up to to check drunken driving and accidents.

Chief minister Vasundhara Raje celebrated the festival with her family members in Delhi.
