Jaipur: Pre-monsoon rains on Sunday lashed southern part of Rajasthan, even as north-western region of the state reeled under hot and humid conditions.
Rainfall up to 7 cm was experienced in the southern part comprising Udaipur, Banswara, Dungarpur, Bhilwara and Rajsamand districts.
Beg in Udaipur district recorded the maximum rainfall of 7 cm followed by Banera, Kapasan and Udaipur with 4 cm each, a MeT official said.
Meanwhile, the north-western region continued to reel under blistering heat wave with mercury fluctuating between 39 degree Celsius and 42 deg C.
According to a MeT forecast, southwest monsoon is nearing the Gujarat-Rajasthan border line and could enter the state in a day or two.
