Jaipur: The Rajasthan High Court on Thursday
ordered a police probe into the allegations of impersonation
of candidates in a test for admission to 14 medical colleges
in the state and constituted a committee to verify if wrong
questions were asked in the examination.
Justice R S Rathore observed that prima facie there were
irregularities in the admission process for Rajsasthan
Pre-Medical Test (RPMT) 2009. Now, all admissions to different
medical colleges would remain subject to the decision on writ
petitions pending before the court.
The court ruling came on two petitions which alleged
that some candidates have got admission to the medical
colleges by engaging professionals to take down their papers
and impersonate themselves to be the original candidate.
Observing that report submitted by a committee formed by
the government was not satisfactory, Justice Rathore
constituted a police team headed by P K Singh, IG (Personal)
Police, Jaipur to investigate the charge of impersonation.
The court also constituted a three-member committee
headed by Onkar Saxena, former principal SMS Medical College,
Jaipur to look into the allegation that there were 15 wrong
questions in the test.
