Rajasthan Assembly employees work to pay homage to APJ Abdul Kalam

Employees of Rajasthan Assembly on Saturday decided to work to pay homage to former president APJ Abdul Kalam who passed away on Monday.



Jaipur: Employees of Rajasthan Assembly on Saturday decided to work to pay homage to former president APJ Abdul Kalam who passed away on Monday.

Speaker Kailash Meghwal and all other employees worked in their offices in the Assembly on a holiday today as a mark of respect to Kalam, who had wished that no holiday should be declared on his death and wanted people to work an extra day, according to a release.

Kalam, the 11th President of India who became popular as "People's President", died due to cardiac attack while delivering a lecture at IIM Shillong and his last rites were performed in his hometown Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu.
