Rajasthan DGP faces people`s wrath in slain inspector`s village

Meena had gone to Kheerva village to visit the grieved family members of Phool Mohammad, who was burnt alive by an irate mob.

Jaipur: Rajasthan DGP Harish Meena on Monday
escaped unhurt during his visit to the village of slain police
inspector Phool Mohammad in Sikar district after some people
pelted stones at his vehicle.

Meena had gone to Kheerva village to visit the grieved
family members of Phool Mohammad, who was burnt alive by an
irate mob after a man jumped to death from an overhead water
tank to protest alleged police inaction in a murder case in
Sawai Madhopur district on Thursday.

"When the DGP was returning back, some people pelted
stones at his vehicle. However, none injured in the incident
and he returned back to Sikar district headquarters from the
village," SHO Laxmangarh Rajendra said.

"It was resentment among people in the village which
led to the incident," he said, adding none has been arrested
in the matter.

Meanwhile, in Sawai Madhopur district, where Rajesh
Meena had jumped from the water tank demanding arrest of those
responsible for the murder of an elderly women in Sudwal
vilage Februray 25, his family members refused to accept his
body.

"Meena`s family members are not ready for his funeral
and have not accepted his body. We have sent the body to Kota
to place in deep freezer," Vishnukant, SP Sawaimadhopur, said.
