Jaipur: The Rajasthan government today
assured the Assembly that affected farmers waiting for the
crop insurance payments would be made within seven days.
During Zero Hour, Agriculture Minister Harjiram Burdak
said the state government had arranged the funds worth Rs 638
crore including a share of the insurance companies for
disbursement to farmers.
The payment process began and would be completed within
seven days, he said.
In the current FY, the state government has made a
budgetary provision of Rs 1,400 crore under crop insurance
scheme, he added.
Minister woke up when the Opposition members of BJP and
CPI-M demanded to clarify the crop insurance payment due in
favour of farmers.
