Rajasthan government has relaxed austerity measures lifting the ban on business class air travel and purchase of air conditioners for departments.

Jaipur: Rajasthan government has relaxed
austerity measures lifting the ban on business class air
travel and purchase of air conditioners for departments.

The austerity orders were imposed in the wake of drought
in the state`s 27 districts in September last year. However,
the finance department decided to relax the measures for
officials and other employees` benefits and privileges,
according to an official statement here last night.

The state government also relaxed the curbs on purchase
of vehicles, mobiles, air-conditioners by departments.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot would lead a 15-member team,
which includes five of his cabinet ministers, to a visit to
the USA and London from July one to ten, official sources said
adding all of them have been provided with business class air
tickets.

In another government order, the services of 459
physicians hired on contracts in all over the state were
terminated after a review meeting, the official said.
