Jaipur: The Rajasthan High Court has issued
show cause notices to the railway authorities on alleged
corruption charges in the allotment of contracts to a
single firm.

A single bench judge issued the notices to M/s Royal
Enterprises Ltd, which is involved in mechanised cleaning
system in Ajmer, terming it to be a "benami" (fake) firm.
The court called for an explanation from the concerned
railway authorities on a writ petition filed by Bhanwar Singh
Choudhary, owner of a rival firm alleging that Raghu Veer
Prasad Meena, the Deputy CME (Planning) Northern Western
Railway, Jaipur is running the firm in someone else`s name.

Meena is alleged to having dealt with all the tender
processes regarding mechanised cleaning of the coaches and
misused his authority and power to monopolise and to capture
all the contracts of mechanised cleaning through "benami"
names causing loss of public exchequer.
"We apprised the court that wherever Meena remained
posted, he deliberately placed such conditions in the tender
processes which favoured his own firm.

Looking to the fact a large scale contracts running in
crore or rupee have been awarded to the firm in question run
benami by a senior railway officer issued show cause notice,"
said Ajay Kumar Jain, counsel for the petitioner.
