Rajasthan minister, Cong MLA injured in accident

Rajasthan Minister Dayaram Parmar and Congress MLA Lal Shankar were among four injured in a road accident.

Bhilwara: Rajasthan Minister Dayaram Parmar and Congress MLA Lal Shankar were among four injured in a road accident when their vehicle collided with a truck here, police said.

"The incident occurred around noon when the vehicle carrying the MoS for higher education Dayaram Parmar, ruling party MLA from Dungarpur Lal Shankar and his wife Radha Devi, and Parmar`s gunman Laxminarayan collided with a truck near Kanwaliawas village," SP (Bhilwara) Umesh Dutta said.

"They were on their way to Udaipur from Jaipur when the incident occurred under Gulabpura police station circle," the SP said.

The injured were rushed to the hospital where their condition is stable and they have been shifted to ward after necessary medical tests, he said.

"The minister received minor injuries on the forehead and nose. Their condition is stable and I am informed that a team of doctors is coming to Bhilwara from Jaipur to examine them," the SP, who rushed to the hospital after the incident, said.

"Due to construction work on Bhilwara-Udaipur highway, one-way system was in place during which the truck collided with their vehicle," he said, adding, the truck driver has been arrested.
