Indore: Suggesting a change in the current
reservation system, senior Gujjar leader Kirori Singh Bainsla
today said a new policy should be worked out to benefit the
deserving people.

"The reservation policy should be reviewed. People who
have reaped its benefits should be excluded from it. Deserving
ones should be included in it," Rajasthan Gujjar Arakshan
Sangharsh Samiti Convenor Bainsla told reporters here.

The duration of reservation on the old formula is being
extended, he said, adding it was time for a national debate on
it.

"Let people demanding reservation on caste lines for a
long time get its benefit," the 70-year-old leader said when
asked whether reservations should be based on economic
factors.

Bainsla said the Gujjar agitation demanding reservation
for the community will continue in Rajasthan till the demand
is met, he added.
