Udaipur: A restaurant owner was on Wednesday
arrested for allegedly attempting to rape a 34-year-old French
woman tourist here.
The French woman, who arrived in the city yesterday,
befriended Pushpendra Singh (32) after she had dinner at his
restaurant in Lalghat area, police said.
Following the dinner, Singh offered her accommodation at
his restaurant. Later in the night, the owner allegedly tried
to rape her, but she managed to escape and spent night at some
other hotel, they said.
In the morning, she registered a police complaint against
Singh following which he was arrested.
