Jaipur: Two notorious criminals of Uttar
Pradesh were on Thursday shot dead in an encounter with police in
Dholpur in Rajasthan.
Three policemen were also injured in the encounter which
took place in Badi area, police said.
"The accused Surendra and Lokesh were wanted in several
cases and had been hiding in the area. Following a tip-off,
our team surrounded and challenged them," Dholpur SP Rahul
Prakash said.
"When they opened fire, the police party retaliated and in
the exchange of fire, both the accused were killed and three
policemen were injured. One of them is critical," he said.
Three pistols, a rifle and a hand grenade were recovered
from the spot, he said.
