Two key accused in Jaipur blasts case plead not guilty

Jaipur: Two key accused in the 2008 Jaipur blasts case on Tuesday pleaded not guilty in a special court here after which it fixed May 26 for commencing trial.

The special bomb blast cases court read out the charges against Mohammad Sarvar Aazmi and Shahbbaz Hussain in the case after which the duo denied to accept it and asked the prosecution to prove the charges.

The prosecution will now produce its witnesses on May 26 when the trial in the case will commence.

The duo was charged for offences under the various sections of IPC, Explosives Act and Unlawful Activities Act.

Charge sheets were recently filed against the two in the court.

There are nine accused in the blast case but four are still absconding.

The police had arrested Shahbaaz Hussain, Mohammad Saif, Sarvar Aazmi, Salman and another man, but four accused namely Sahdaab, Aariz, Mohammed Khalid and Saajid absconding.

On May 13, 2008, a series of nine synchronized bomb blasts in fifteen minutes at various locations in Jaipur left 63 people dead and over 200 injured.
