Two labourers crushed to death by speeding bus

Two labourers were on Sunday mowed down by a speeding Rajasthan Roadways bus while they were working on the roadside near Kanwarpura village of the district, police said.

Kota: Two labourers were on Sunday mowed down by a speeding Rajasthan Roadways bus while they were working on the roadside near Kanwarpura village of the district, police said.

The labourers--Raju Mali (35) Ramesh Dhobi (42)-- died on the spot.

The driver of the bus fled soon after the accident.

However, the bus has been seized and a case lodged against its driver, they said.

In another accident reported from Bundi district today, a 35-year-old woman was killed while her husband and two children were injured when their motorcycle was hit by a speeding truck on Kota-Jaipur Highway, police said.

Lakshmibai Mali was killed on the spot and her husband Panna Lal (40), daughter Prinkaya (16) and son Mahaveer (8). They are residents of Barodiya village.

The accident took place near Satoor village.

The injured were rushed to Community Health Centre in Hindoli.

The truck driver managed to flee the spot after the incident, but the truck has been taken into police custody, they said, adding that efforts are on to nab the driver, they said.
