Alwar: A court here today
directed the police to lodge an FIR against four persons,
including two policemen, following a complaint by a woman who
alleged her husband was kept in illegal detention in a police
station and his body was found later.

The complainant Geeta Devi alleged the police kept her
husband Pappu Jatav in illegal detention at Malakhera police
station for five days and later his body recovered on August 5
from a nearby forest area.

The court directed the police to lodge an FIR against the
SHO Umesh Beniwal, Assistant Sub Inspector Leela Ram Meena,
and Shukla Ram and Daya Ram, official sources said.

Shukla Ram, father-in-law of Pappu`s brother Devi Sahai,
had filed a case alleging Pappu had abducted his minor
daughter and hence the police were investigating the case
keeping him at the centre.

The police took Pappu and Devi Sahai for questioning on
August 1. Devi Sahai was released later but the police
allegedly kept Pappu in illegal detention and his body was
recovered from a neaby forest area the next day, the woman
alleged.

Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police of Alwar Alok
Vashishta has ordered an inquiry by Deputy SP Prahalad Singh
Shekhawat into the incident.
