Woman, daughter killed in mishap; angry locals set car afire

A 28-year-old woman and her eight-year-old daughter were killed and her husband severely injured when their motorbike collided with a vehicle on Kota-Jaipur highway in Hindoli area on Monday, police said.

Bundi: A 28-year-old woman and her eight-year-old daughter were killed and her husband severely injured when their motorbike collided with a vehicle on Kota-Jaipur highway in Hindoli area on Monday, police said.

Soon after the accident, angry locals set the vehicle on fire and detained its driver.

Deputy Superintendent of Police(Hindoli Range) Kishorilal said the accident took place near Badanayagaon village around 3 PM today when Devilal Meena (32) of Sitapura village was riding his bike, along with his wife and daughter.

The woman died on the spot while her daughter was rushed to Bundi government hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead, the police officer said, adding Devilal was undergoing treatment at the district hospital.

The vehicle driver has been detained, he said.

Police have registered separate cases for the deaths and torching of vehicles.

"Investigation is on into the mishap," the police officer said.
