Udaipur: His publicity materials carry this particular quote, “When a chaiwala can become PM, why can't another one become Law college president?"
Twenty-four-year-old Pawan Das Vaishnav runs a tea stall near the famed Fateh Sagar Lake in Udaipur and he is also contesting for the president's post in his law college election.
Inspired by the life of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the final year LLB student says he doesn't feel any shame in serving tea and snacks on the roadside.
In a competitive world where the youth are increasingly seeking white collared jobs, Pawan's expectations from life puts him in a different league.
Though he hails from a humble background, he is ambitious and as a first step of his political career he wants to win the president's post of his law college.
Pavan is also a graduate in Business Management and a post graduate in commerce.
This highly educated youth, who has five brothers, has been helping his father Mohan Das Vaishnav to run the tea stall business for over a decade now.
"Many people may feel so. But I feel even after attaining qualifications, one shouldn't forget their roots and not think their family business a lowly affair,” the Times of India quoted him as saying.
Pawan is one of the ABVP backed candidates in the college elections.
"Modiji is an inspiration for lakhs of youth so how could I be left out and that too when we share a similar background of tea vending business," said Pavan.
Despite his busy schedule of attending lectures and election campaign, Pawan finds time to help his father at the stall which serves piping hot pakoras and tea, TOI reported.
