SAD discusses preparations for civic polls

Chandigarh: The Shiromani Akali Dal core committee on Friday met to discuss in detail preparations for the civic elections due in Punjab sometime towards the end of next month.

The one-point agenda for the meeting focused on the likely issues on which it will go to the people, a party spokesman said.

Detailed district-wise reports about development and other achievements of the government were discussed in the meeting, he said.

The meeting was presided over by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal. 

Party chief and Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal spelt out the outlines of the poll strategy for the SAD-BJP alliance partners.

The party would announce its list of observers for different zones after it is cleared by Sukhbir Badal tomorrow, he said.
