New Delhi: Hours after the National Green Tribunal (NGT) banned diesel vehicles older than 10 years in the national capital, Delhi government said it would study the order and soon come up with a detailed report.

"We are studying the NGT's order and we will soon prepare a detailed report in this regard," Environment Minister Asim Ahmed Khan said.

NGT earlier held that all diesel vehicles which are more than 10 years old will not be permitted to ply in national capital.

Noting that diesel is a prime source of air pollution in Delhi, the Tribunal said the situation is so alarming that people have been even advised to leave Delhi due to adverse effects on health.

The bench had in November last year banned all vehicles which are older than 15 years in the national capital.
