New Delhi: Google on Friday dedicated a doodle to famous Indian writer RK Narayan, marking his 108th birthday.

Google highlights RK Narayan's most renowned work `Malgudi Days` by showing a sketch of the novelist apparently indulged in his master piece. `Malgudi Days​` was a work of pure imagination given life by the writer through characters like Swami and his friends in the fictional South Indian town of Malgudi.

A simple click on the picture leads you to the world of his wondrous works, accomplishment and laurels.

He was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award for his another brilliant work of literature 'The Guide' and was honoured with the Padma Bhushan in 1964.

The writer died on May 13, 2001 in Chennai at the age of 94.
