London: Researchers have developed a new James Bond-like gun, which has been thought to be the world`s first smart gun.

The `iPhone of guns`, as it has been called in the US, is a safer version of a standard gun by only allowing people with a specialised watch to fire it, the Daily Star reported.
London: Researchers have developed a new James Bond-like gun, which has been thought to be the world`s first smart gun.

The `iPhone of guns`, as it has been called in the US, is a safer version of a standard gun by only allowing people with a specialised watch to fire it, the Daily Star reported.
Just like the gun in Bond film `Skyfall`, the new personalised gadget only works if close to the watch it is synced with.

Thanks to a built-in smart chip, a light on the grip turns green when ready to use and if it doesn`t light up it is just a useless paperweight.

Gun manufacturer Armatix are hoping the new-age iP1 design will be safer than regular guns with strangers and enemies unable to use them.
