Now, 'Zero Energy Furniture' table can save you money on your AC bills

The newly developed Zero Energy Furniture (ZEF) table could be a new way cut down on energy costs.

Washington: The newly developed Zero Energy Furniture (ZEF) table could be a new way cut down on energy costs.

The table contains a special phase-changing material that absorbs and releases heat to keep room temperature around 71 degree F, CNN News reported.

The science behind the climate control table wasn't new, according to the Parisian duo behind the invention, designer Jean-Sebastien Lagrange and engineer Raphael Menard.

Lagrange said that the application to everyday objects could possibly address climate and energy issues on a furniture scale.

When paired with a traditional AC unit, the ZEF table could cut up to 30 percent of the AC energy, according to the designers.
