New Delhi: This is not a sci-fi movie, but it's real and happening right now in the deep waters of the Pacific Ocean.

Two robotic submersibles, or ROVs have plunged into the warm waters off the coast of Hawaii as part of a US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) project.

According to Sciencealert.com, two of the team's robotic submersibles hit the sea floor some 2,100 metres below the surface, capturing amazing footage of a place no human has ever set eyes on.

One can watch the exploration live as the team is live-streaming the dive unfold which you can view it below:

The exploration ship Okeanos, which is on a month-long research journey to the northwestern Hawaiian islands, will explore ecosystems and geology deep beneath the waves, as well as identify at-risk habitats.

From July 10 to September 30, 2015, NOAA's exploration ship Okeanos Explorer will explore largely unknown deep-sea ecosystems in the Hawaiian Archipelago and offshore Johnston Atoll as part of the Hohonu Moana: Exploring the Deep Waters off Hawai’i expedition.

Below is the view from second ROV, where you can even hear the researchers talking as they discuss their findings in the bottom strange world.
