Peshawar: Jet fighters targeted militant
positions in the volatile Orakzai tribal region of northwest
Pakistan Saturday, killing 10 Taliban fighters and injuring six
others even as security forces arrested nine suspects
including two rebel commanders.
The jet fighters struck militant hideouts in Ghiljo,
Khadezai, Daborak, Kot Kalay, Injarkai, Tandar Mela and
Walayati areas of Orakzai Agency, officials said.
In a separate development, police in Hangu district of
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province arrested four suspects, including
two militant commanders, and seized arms and ammunition from
their possession.
In the Kurram tribal region, security forces
apprehended five militants, including one from Orakzai Agency,
officials said.
