Kathmandu: At least 13 people were killed
and three dozen others injured on Monday when a passenger bus
plunged off a mountain road in a western Nepalese district.
Seven men and five women died on the spot while a
woman died while she was being taken to a local hospital in
Pokhara, police said.
The crowed bus was heading towards Pokhara, about 200
kilometres west of Kathmandu, from Kaskikot when the accident
took place.
Injured were admitted to Western Zonal Hospital and
Manipal Hospital in Pokhara for treatment.
The police are yet to ascertain the real cause behind
the accident, but it is suspected that the bus was carrying
