3 injured in scuffle between UCPN-M and CPN-M cadre
Three people were injured in a scuffle between the cadres belonging to the Unified CPN-Maoist and the newly formed CPN-Maoist in Chitawan district of southern Nepal.
Kathmandu: Three people were injured on Saturday in a scuffle between the cadres belonging to the Unified CPN-Maoist and the newly formed CPN-Maoist in Chitawan district of southern Nepal.
One of the injured persons was seriously injured in the attack, according to Maoist sources.
Uttam Gurung, Suresh Thapa and Narayan Acharya were injured in the clash that broke in Bharatpur Municipality in the district, according to the sources.
They were injured in the clash which erupted after the CPN-Maoist cadres tried to take control of the office.
Uttam Gurung, who sustained serious injuries was rushed to Bharatpur Hospital for treatment.
The party office, which is situated at Krishapur of Bharatpur Municipality, was brought under the control of the police after the clash.
The cadres of both the parties were confined some 500 metres away from the party office in Dharmachowk, police said.
The CPN-Maoist was formed this month by splitting the UCPN-Maoist, the largest party in the Constituent Assembly.
