Accident, lightning kills eight in Nepal

Kathmandu: At least eight people, including two children, were killed in a road mishap and lightning in Nepal, police said on Thursday.

Five persons were killed and 15 others sustained major injuries when a Totopani-bound bus from Kathmandu veered off the road today and fell 10 metres down into Sunkhosi River at Fulting Danda in Sindhupalchowk district, they added
The injured have been admitted to the Sadabahar Hospital in Khandichau.
Those killed in the road mishap include two children, one woman and two men.
The Nepal Police and Armed Police Force personnel were carrying out the rescue operation with the help of locals.

Meanwhile, three persons including an elderly person died in different places of Khotang district in eastern Nepal after lightning struck them last night.
