Kabul: A local Afghan government spokesman
says a vehicle packed with explosives has blown up in front of
a district police office in eastern Afghanistan, wounding two
people.

Provincial spokesman Din Mohammad Darwesh says police
fired at the parked vehicle after the two people inside
refused to move it. The vehicle then exploded.

The Taliban claimed the explosion killed foreigners and
Afghan policemen attending a security meeting at the office in
Khosi district of Logar province.

But Darwesh says no one died except the two attackers.
In northern Afghanistan, the Interior Ministry said police
also fired at two men with explosives on a motorbike, but
failed to stop the blast, which wounded a policeman and a
civilian.

That attack took place in Qaysar district of Faryab
province.
