Islamabad: The Pakistan government has named Aftab Sultan as the new director general of the domestic Intelligence Bureau (IB).
After long deliberations to forge a consensus from among four senior police officers, the government finally chose additional inspector general Sultan, the Dawn reported on Sunday.
Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani approved Sultan's name. He would assume the new charge on Monday.
