Islamabad: Days before former President
Pervez Musharraf’s planned return to Pakistan from self-exile,
a key leader of his party resigned on Wednesday.
Fawwad Chaudhry, who was a spokesman for Musharraf and
general secretary of the All Pakistan Muslim League's (APML)
Punjab chapter, said he was resigning from his party as he was
not being consulted on important issues such as Musharraf's
planned return or the organisation of rallies.
Chaudhry said he had sent his resignation to the party
leadership via e-mail.
Earlier, veteran politician and former minister Sher
Afgan Khan Niazi resigned from the APML following differences
with the party's leadership.
