Bad weather in Sri Lanka to continue till tomorrow

Bad weather condition in Sri Lanka has crippled transportation and forced closure of schools.



Colombo: Bad weather condition in Sri
Lanka has crippled transportation in the eastern province and
forced closure of schools in central province.

Meteorological Department said the bad weather with
heavy rains and strong winds will prevail in several areas in
the country and continue till tomorrow.

Several railway tracks are under water in the eastern
province. The train service to eastern district of Batticaloa
and Trincomalee has been cut short to Kekirawa in North
Central province, officials said.

Schools in central hill province will remain close for
tomorrow due to prevailing heavy rain and bad weather
conditions.

Nearly 600,000 people were affected due to heavy rain
and flood situation, particularly in the eastern province for
last two weeks.
