Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday turned 64.

The ruling Awami League is celebrating the birthday in
her absence as she is in New York to attend the 65th UN
General Assembly session.
The Awami League and its associate organisations, to
mark the occasion, have chalked out various programmes
including milad and prayers at mosques, temples, pagodas and
churches.
On this day in 1947, Hasina was born at Tungipara of
Gopalganj district, also the birthplace of her father and
Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Meanwhile, expatriate Bangladeshis living in Europe
and US have also planned programmes to celebrate the day.
