Bomb blast kills 3 policemen: Afghan official

The three were killed this morning by a bomb that was placed on a bus.

Kabul: An Afghan provincial official says a bomb blast in the country`s east has killed three policemen.

Ahmad Zia Abdulzai, a spokesman for the governor of Nangarhar province, says the three were killed on Thursday morning by a bomb that was placed on a bus. The bus was transporting policemen and trainees to a police training academy in the provincial capital of Jalalabad.

He says six others on the bus were wounded in the explosion.

Also in the east, NATO says a service member was killed on Wednesday in a roadside bomb attack. The location of the explosion was not disclosed.

Twenty-five NATO service members have been killed in Afghanistan so far this month, including at least 21 Americans.
