Islamabad: A Chinese journalist and two Pakistani journalists were detained in Pakistan`s Abbottabad city where al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden was shot dead.
The detention took place just a day after two French and four Pakistani journalists were held. A Danish diplomat and his wife too were briefly detained. They were told to leave the town as they did not have proper travel documents.
The China Television team comprising Chan and two Pakistani journalists, Saad Gul and Mohammad Bilal, was intercepted when they were driving towards the Osama compound, reported Dawn on Friday.
Chan was permitted to stay in a hotel, but directed to leave Abbottabad as he had not obtained permission to visit the area, said an official.
The Pakistani journalists, however, were taken into protective custody and would be released after `clearance`.
