Kathmandu: Newly appointed ambassador of
the United States to Nepal Scott H DeLisi, arrived here on Thursday
to assume his office.
"I look forward to building on the long-standing
friendship between our two countries and strengthening the
bonds of goodwill between our two peoples," said DeLisi in a
brief statement.
Ambassador DeLisi is scheduled to present his
credentials on Sunday, April 18.
A career diplomat DeLisi, during his 28 years
service, served as Ambassador to the State of Eritrea and as
Deputy Chief of Mission of the American Embassy in Gaborone,
Botswana.
Most recently, he was the Director of Career
Development and Assignments in the State Department`s Bureau
of Human Resources.
Among his other domestic assignments he has served
as Director for Southern African Affairs, and overseas he has
had postings in India, Madagascar, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
