Kathmandu: Eight people, including an Indian, were killed and as many injured in separate incidents across Nepal, police said on Sunday.

An Indian named Raisul Alam died when he was caught by a naked wire while playing holi in Bagbazaar of Kathmandu today, Kantipuronline reported.

In a separate incident, four women were killed while collecting clay in Kaski and Sunsari districts. Eight others were also injured in the incident, police said.

In yet another incident, three children aged between 9 and 13 drowned in a river where they were taking bath, in Kailali district of western Nepal, police said.

Meanwhile, police have arrested three hundred people for sprinkling colours and red vermillion powder without consent. However, they were released in the evening.
