Peshawar: Pakistani security forces on Thursday
killed eight pro-Taliban militants in the volatile Orakzai
tribal region in the country`s northwest, security officials
Security forces used artillery to target militant
positions in Orakzai Agency.
Two hideouts were destroyed during the bombardment.
In a separate development, security forces and police
launched a joint search operation in Hangu district of
Khyber-Pakthunkhwa province and arrested 130 suspects.
The security forces seized 10 Kalashnikovs, four
grenades and 12 rifles.
The operation was launched in the wake of a bomb
attack on a security forces vehicle that killed one trooper
and injured six more.
