Rawalpindi: Pakistan’s intelligence agencies have warned that extremists could target strategic locations in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, following which security in the twin cities has been put on high alert.

According to the intelligence inputs, militants could target important buildings using three explosive laden vehicles.

Security in and around all-important building across the two cities has been beefed up following the warning, The Daily Times reports.

Sources said additional police force has been deployed at the airport, hospitals, railway stations and bus depots.

Police personnel in plain clothes and sniffer dogs have also been deployed at important locations.
