Gilani embarks on two-day visit to Kuwait

Kuwait is home to about 150,000 Pakistanis.

Islamabad: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza on Monday embarked on a two-day Kuwait visit, aiming to strengthen bilateral ties and boost investment in Pakistan.

Before his departure, Gilani told media that the two countries have excellent relations and this is the first high-level visit since 2008.

The premier will meet the Kuwaiti Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and hold talks with Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Prime Minister
Sheikh Nasser Al Mohammed Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

Pakistan attaches "immense importance" to its relations with Kuwait and the visit will help strengthen bilateral, economic and political ties, Gilani said.

President Asif Ali Zardari will also visit Kuwait to represent Pakistan at the country`s golden jubilee celebrations, he added.

Kuwait is home to about 150,000 Pakistanis.
