Islamabad: A senior government official was killed and two other persons were injured in an attack by unidentified gunmen in Quetta city in southwest Pakistan on Friday, police said.
Muhammad Idress Ahmed, an Additional Secretary in the Food department, was killed instantly in the attack on Kasi Road last evening.
Ahmed's son and a pedestrian were injured, police said. The gunmen, who were riding a motorcycle, escaped after the scene.
Police cordoned off the area and carried out a search operation.
No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
