Karachi: Former Pakistan president and Army chief Pervez Musharraf has admitted that his party - the All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) - is not well prepared for the elections, adding that he feels a strong blow to his strategy due to this situation.
Musharraf, who returned to Pakistan on March 24 after four years of self-exile in Dubai and London, said that his strategy was to return to the country and give momentum to the people, draw them and then select suitable candidates for different constituencies, reports The Express Tribune.
Musharraf, however, said that his party is "handicapped" and, therefore, all has gone into "reverse order". He said his party would now ask people to submit their nomination papers and then ask the public to vote for them.
The former military dictator admitted that he cannot expect his party to perform well in the upcoming elections as Nawaz Sharif`s party did in 2008 when Nawaz had returned from exile.
