India pledges to provide Rs 10.62 crore for school buildings

Kathmandu: India on Wednesday agreed to provide
Rs 10.62 crores to Nepal for improving infrastructure of some
educational institutes.

The fund will be provided under under Nepal-India
Economic Cooperation, Indian Embassy said in a statement here.
Four separate Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) were
signed today between the Indian Embassy and concerned
executing agency of Nepal to implement the project.

These educational institutions are serving the needs
of the local populations and meet the needs of over 4,200
students, about half of whom are girls.

The Indian assistance will help upgrade the school`s
existing infrastructure, which are either inadequate or in a
dilapidated condition.
