Indian High Commissioner meets new Lankan PM

Indian High Commissioner Ashok K Kantha on Thursday met newly appointed Sri Lankan Prime Minister D M Jayaratne, a close ally of President Mahinda Rajapaksa, and discussed with him the friendly ties between the two nations.

During the meeting, Kantha discussed with Jayaratne
ways and means of further strengthening relations between the
two neigbbouring countries.
A number of other matters of bilateral interest were
also discussed during the meeting, an Indian High Commission
release said.
