Lahore: A Pakistani peace activist has charged country’s intelligence agencies of ‘constantly’ harassing her for promoting Indo-Pak peace.
Talking to reporters at the Press Club here, Saeeda Diep, founder of the Institute for Peace and Secular Studies, said Pakistani intelligence agencies were harassing her for supporting peace between India and Pakistan.
“I have been taken to police stations, forcibly picked up from the Lahore Press Club by intelligence personnel, constantly threatened on the phone, while my contact diary has been stolen,” Diep said.
She accused the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI), IB, and Special Brach personnel of humiliating her during the several rounds of interrogation that she has been forced to attend.
“These people keep on asking the same question that who is your husband and provide us the full details of your family,” The Daily Times quoted Diep, as saying.
Diep said that she had even lodged a formal complaint with the ISI Director Lieutenant Director General Ahmed Shuja Pasha in May in this regard, but no action has been taken so far.
