Japan to help build flood warning system in Pak

Japan will grant about USD 3.48 million to Pakistan for a project to strengthen flood warning.

Islamabad: Japan will grant an assistance of about USD 3.48 million to Pakistan for a project to strengthen flood warning and management capacity of the country.
The official notes for the project were signed and exchanged between Japanese Ambassador to Pakistan, Hiroshi Oe, and Representative of the UNESCO in Pakistan, Dr Kozue Kay Nagata, The Daily Times reports.
The project will include a flood forecasting and warning system, which will use satellite-based rainfall data.
