Karachi: Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has hailed the electoral victory of Abdul Qadir Gilani in Multan, saying it is a stark reminder that people alone pronounce the final verdict.
In his felicitation message to Abdul Qadir, the son of former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, Zardari said the by-election win in NA 151 Multan would reverberate through time.
According to The Dawn, Gilani secured 64628 votes and won the election with a lead of over 4000 votes.
Zardari termed the victory as vindication of the former premier and the Pakistan People''s Party (PPP) and recognition of the sacrifices of Gilani for upholding the constitution and democracy in the country.
