Karachi naval base attack: Four suspects arrested

A 15-hour siege at the key military base led to the death of 14 people.

Karachi: Four men suspected to be involved in the deadly attack on the naval base in the southern Pakistani port city of Karachi Sunday night were arrested here on Friday, a news channel reported.

The suspects in the PNS Mehran Base attack were reportedly arrested from Korangi area. They were later shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.

A 15-hour terror siege at the key military base led to the death of 14 people, including four terrorists.

The Pakistani Taliban - which has vowed to avenge the US`s killing of Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden - claimed responsibility for the naval base attack.

Over 20 explosions shook the fortified facility after the terrorists entered it Sunday night. Fierce gunfights raged through the night. It was only by Monday afternoon that authorities claimed the terrorists had been killed. A few were reportedly overpowered.
