Islamabad: Afghan President Hamid Karzai
telephoned Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani today
and invited him to visit Kabul in the near future.
A statement issued by the premier`s office said Karzai
telephoned Gilani especially "to extend his formal invitation
to the latter for his first official visit to Kabul".
Karzai said he would like to discuss the whole gamut
of bilateral relations during the visit.
Gilani accepted the invitation and "expressed
confidence that high-level contacts would bring the two
fraternal countries even closer," the statement said.
The two leaders decided that their Foreign Ministries
would coordinate to agree on a mutually acceptable timeframe
for the visit.
