Ahmed Shuja Pasha will accompany Prime Minister Yousuf Raza
Gilani on a day-long visit to Kabul on Saturday for talks with
the top Afghan leadership.
Gilani is visiting Afghanistan at the invitation of
President Hamid Karzai.
The premier will be accompanied by the powerful army
chief and the head of the ISI, official sources said.
The two sides are expected to hold talks on a wide range
of issues, including bilateral relations, the situation in
Afghanistan and reconciliation efforts with the Taliban,
regional security and terrorism.
Kayani and Pasha will participate in delegation-level
talks along with Gilani, the sources said.
Gilani is visiting Kabul at a time when Pakistan`s
relations with the US, a key contributor of troops in
Afghanistan, have been strained due to differences over
Pakistan has also been backing efforts for reconciliation
with the Afghan Taliban.
